Tourney Rules

Held at Pawtuckaway Lake, Nottingham, NH.

Fishing is from 7am - 2pm by kayak only.

All participants must register at the Mountain Road Trading Post prior to the tourney - entry is limited to 35 kayakers and will be based on first come first served at the time of registration. Put in is up to the individual and can include 1.) The public boat launch at the North end of the lake (Fundy Cove). 2.) Pawtuckaway State Park Canoe launch area (carry in). 3.) Local residents who have their own lake access.

The entry fee will be $35* for all new participants - this fee will include a 'tag-a-long' floating 'live well' to keep. Returning participants who already have the live well will be $20*.

* Updated for 2011 & 2012 - increased by popular opinion when we considered cancelling due to the expenses affiliated with running the party and covering many prizes. We hope everybody understands.

Any live wells other than those issued by MRTP will need to be checked by us for conformance to NHF&G guidelines, and authorization,  prior to use.

During the tournament there will be several power boats serving as roving 'weigh in' stations. These boats will display a yellow flag for ease of identification. The boats will be assigned to specific areas of the lake and will be able to be contacted by cell phone, air horn, whistle, waving your arms or any other signaling system if discussed previously with the boat operators. Each fish caught should be kept in the live well until a 'weigh in' boat can measure, weigh and release the fish - alive. Dead fish will be disqualified - no exceptions. Top contenders will also be photographed prior to release.

You will need to come in to MRTP (or print out from the website) prior to fishing in the tournament to obtain a rule sheet and a topo of the lake with the 'weigh in' boat information (This has not been updated for 2012 yet - check back). We will be open Fri. & Sat. 9am - 6pm prior to the tournament as well as from 6am on the day of the tourney.

Click here for the Tourney map and weigh-in info.

Fishing will end at 2pm and we will host an awards party/cookout at MRTP from 2:30 to 5pm.

Awards will be for biggest bass (1st place), top three combined weight bass (2nd place) and the most 12"+ bass caught (or 'High Hook' - 3rd place).

Other prizes will be awarded by random drawing - so everyone has a chance to win something!

Some other rules:

Contestants must adhere to all NHF&G tournament rules.

Contestants can only win one prize.

No live bait.

No one under the age of 16 can participate and all contestants must possess a valid NH fishing license.

Handle all fish carefully - Dead fish - or any fish that die after being released - are not eligible for prizes - the decision of the 'weigh in' boat operators is final - no exceptions!

Only one fish is allowed in each live well - and each fish should be 'weighed in' separately.

No other type of boats are allowed - kayaks only.

The 2012 Tournament will be structured similar to 2011 and is limited to the first 35 paid participants.

Check back for the 2012 Tourney date.
